MILAN, Italy — Giorgio Armani accused the trend business on Friday of “raping” ladies with brief-lived developments and sexual intercourse-driven marketing and advertising.
“I think it is time for me to say what I think. Ladies keep having raped by designers,” Armani, 85, told reporters on the sidelines of a show for his Emporio Armani line at Milan Style 7 days.
“If a girl walks on the avenue and sees an advert with a lady with her boobs and arse in plain sight and she would like to be like that much too, which is a way of raping her,” Armani explained. “You can rape a lady in many techniques, either by throwing her in the basement or by suggesting that she attire in a sure way.”
Armani, regarded for his sober, tasteful outfits, launched his label in 1975 and has crafted it into a world wide brand name.
“In my present there are brief skirts, extended skirts, ample and limited trousers. I have supplied highest flexibility to gals who can use all prospects if they are practical,” he explained.
“I’m ill of hearing the phrase ‘trend’. We have to have to consider to operate for today’s female. There shouldn’t be traits,” he said.
He stated his Emporio Armani exhibit, his younger line, was influenced by “strong-willed” young gals.
He will current the Drop/Wintertime 2020 collection for his primary Giorgio Armani line on Sunday.
