Russia’s space company reported Wednesday that two cosmonauts scheduled to launch to the Worldwide Area Station will be replaced with alternates for clinical good reasons.

Roscosmos stated crew members Nikolai Tikhonov and Andrei Babkin will be changed by their designated backups, Anatoly Ivanishin and Ivan Vagner, for the launch scheduled for 9 April.

Speaking at Johnson House Heart in Houston, NASA spokesman Rob Navias stated U.S. astronaut Chris Cassidy, who experienced trained with Tikhonov and Babkin, would remain on the crew and launch as planned with the two Russian alternates.

Sergei Krikalev, head of manned systems for Roscomos, explained in remarks carried by Russian information businesses that the Russian crew users will be changed thanks to unspecified health care causes.

A person of the cosmonauts was “temporarily unfit” for the mission, Krikalev claimed. He refused to elaborate.

Russia’s RIA Novosti news company explained Tikhonov gained an unspecified personal injury throughout training.

The Global Place Station is currently operated by NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Andrew Morgan and Russian Oleg Skripochka.
