<p>Sports are great for many different reasons&period; They all &lpar;well most&rpar; serve as great opportunities to workouts&comma; competition&comma; developing camaraderie&comma; and having fun&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Competitive tennis has developed vastly in the last few decades&comma; allowing the initiation of numerous research studies which attempt to determine the physiological and contextual effects which may have the great impact on people’s ability to play&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Tennis<&sol;strong> is a popular sport in many countries and is played by people of all ages&period; Tennis can be played by two people as singles and four players as doubles&period; Players use rackets to hit a ball over a net onto the other side of the court&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>One can play tennis as a sport or as a recreational activity with friends and family&period; Either way&comma; playing tennis is a good sport to maintain your health&comma; fitness&comma; strength&comma; and agility&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>According to a conducted research&comma; it has been figured that playing Tennis of singles for around an hour may burn calories&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Along with the fitness and physical health benefits&comma; tennis also provides numerous social and mental health benefits as well&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>1&period; Minimal Injuries<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Compared to other sports&comma; especially contact sports&comma; It’s affordable for everyone<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Sure&comma; tennis may be viewed as an elitist sport&period; But anyone can afford to play it&comma; the tennis court can be set up anywhere in a space open and wide enough for it&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>6&period; Amazing for your body and mind&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Tennis needs players to be strong enough mentally just as much as physically and have a strong strategic grasp about the gameplay&period; You can be a great player&comma; but yet not be able to fulfill your potential if your mental game is weak&period; Playing tennis helps one get in good shape&comma; but it also stimulates your mind in ways that other sports do not&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>7&period; Team round up not necessary&excl;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>All you need is a racket&comma; balls&comma; and one other person to go have a great experience on the court of this amazing sport&period; Even if there’s no opponent available for you to play with&comma; that’s alright&excl; Most public tennis courts also have a backboard&period; You can go smack the ball against the wall for a while&period; It will help your strokes and your timing&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>8&period; It’s social&excl;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Tennis at the amateur level is more about fun than it is during the competition&period; It is a very social sport&comma; allowing you to have fun with your friends and opponents not only during points&comma; but also between&comma; before&comma; and after the match and help you build on your abilities to play better and explore different techniques to play&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>There are many people who have done great services to this sport on the professional level and helped in establishing exclusive platforms to encourage the sport of Tennis&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>A lot of players have contributed to the improvements in sports of Tennis&period; We could take an example of the services of a tennis player&comma; George R&period; MacCall&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>George R&period; MacCall<&sol;strong> has been a great asset to the tennis community&period; Born and raised in Kearny&comma; New Jersey&comma; MacCall attended Scarborough Prep School in New York in 1935&period;  After graduation&comma; he attended the University of Virginia in 1936&comma; then transferred to Bucknell&comma; where he attended from 1937-41&period; He also took courses at Upsala College&comma; UCLA and UNLV&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>MacCall started playing tennis at the age of 10&period; All throughout his sports career&comma; MacCall’s career was filled with numerous awards and titles&comma; including the 1959 USTA National Public Parks Open Men’s Doubles Championship&comma; the 1960-62 USTA Hard Court Men’s 35 and Over Doubles Championship and the 1964 USTA Men’s Hard Court 45 and Over Doubles Championship&comma; among others&period;  He was also a three-time Wimbledon Finalist in the 45 and Over Doubles competition&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>MacCall served as the U&period;S&period; Davis Cup captain from 1965-67&period; From 1967-70&comma; he staged celebrity tennis events featuring Bill Cosby and Charlton Heston and organized tennis matches between Pancho Gonzales and Rod Laver in New York and Los Angeles&period; He organized the National Tennis League and promoted matches all over the world with great tennis players Laver&comma; Gonzalez&comma; Ken Rosewall&comma; Roy Emerson&comma; Fred Stolle&comma; Rosie Casals&comma; and Billie Jean King&comma; among others&period;  In 1970&comma; he sold the league to Lamar Hunt&period; He served as a tennis consultant&comma; overseeing the tennis programs at the Desert Inn&comma; Frontier&comma; and the Sands&period;  MacCall later became the Sports Director at the Sands&comma; a position he held until 1992&period; He also co-chaired the search committee to find UNLV’s first tennis coach&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Founded in 1988&comma; the MacCall Youth Tennis Foundation had brought together professional instructors&comma; quality equipment and facilities to provide great sports opportunities for children of all income levels across the community&period;  Through the foundation&comma; as well as his work with the Las Vegas Inner City Games&comma; the Boys &amp&semi; Girls Club&comma; and Ace-Out Drugs programs&comma; MacCall had provided free tennis lessons to more than 20&comma;000 children in Las Vegas&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>There many people like him who have done enormous services to promote Tennis as the sport and helped people learn to play it&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
